Indications
Indelix SR is primarily prescribed for managing essential hypertension. It is effective even in patients with impaired renal function, although its diuretic effect may be less pronounced. Additionally, Indelix SR addresses salt and fluid retention associated with congestive heart failure.
Pharmacology
Indelix SR contains Indapamide, a diuretic with antihypertensive properties. Indapamide promotes vasodilation by inhibiting the transport of calcium, sodium, and potassium across cell membranes. This action reduces vascular hyperreactivity, decreases total peripheral resistance, and lowers arteriolar resistance.
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended Dose: Take one tablet of Indelix SR daily, preferably in the morning.
- Severe Cases: May be combined with other antihypertensive agents for enhanced effect.
- Note: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
Always follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.
Drug Interactions
- Other Antihypertensives: Indelix SR may enhance the effects of other antihypertensive medications.
- Norepinephrine: Like thiazide diuretics, Indelix SR may reduce arterial responsiveness to norepinephrine.
- Lithium: Concomitant use with lithium is not recommended due to increased risk of toxicity.
