Hunycof

Indications

Hunycof is designed to provide relief from dry, irritating coughs and sore throats. It also helps alleviate productive coughs by soothing the respiratory tract.
Use only as directed by a registered healthcare professional.

Pharmacology

Glycerol acts as an osmotic dehydrating agent, offering both hygroscopic and lubricating properties. It increases plasma osmolality, promoting the movement of water from the extravascular spaces into the bloodstream through osmosis.

Dosage & Administration

• Adults and children over 5 years: 10 ml (Two 5 ml spoonfuls)
• Children aged 1-5 years: 5 ml (One 5 ml spoonful)
• Infants 3 months to under 1 year: 2.5 – 5 ml (1/2 – 1 spoonful)

The dosage can be repeated three to four times a day, as needed.

Drug Interactions

No clinically significant interactions have been identified.

Contraindications

Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or if you have hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.

Hunycof is generally well-tolerated. Side effects are unlikely unless the individual is allergic to any of the components.

Pregnancy & Lactation

While the safety of Hunycof during pregnancy and lactation has not been fully established, it is not typically associated with risks and has been widely used without adverse effects.

Precautions & Warnings

• Diabetic patients should be mindful of the carbohydrate content of Hunycof.
• Not suitable for children under three months of age.

Overdose Effects

An overdose is unlikely to cause any significant issues. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive if necessary.
