Aerobic Gram-Positive Bacteria:
- Corynebacterium propinquum
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Staphylococcus epidermidis
- Streptococcus mitis
- Streptococcus pneumoniae
Aerobic Gram-Negative Bacteria:

Pharmacology
Gatifloxacin is an 8-methoxyfluoroquinolone antibiotic intended for topical ophthalmic use. Its antibacterial efficacy is primarily due to the inhibition of DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV—crucial enzymes involved in bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. The unique C-8-methoxy structure enhances its activity and reduces the likelihood of developing resistant strains of Gram-positive bacteria compared to non-methoxy counterparts.
