Composition

Each milliliter (ml) of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium sterile eye gel drops contains:

• Active Ingredient: Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium USP – 10 mg
• Preservative: Purite – 0.0075%

Pharmacology

Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium acts as an ocular lubricant, helping to alleviate symptoms associated with moderate to severe dry eye syndrome (DES). This formulation mimics the properties of natural tears, providing long-lasting protection against dryness and irritation. The preservative used is mild and non-sensitizing, eventually breaking down into components similar to those found in natural tears. The pharmacological action of Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium is not mediated by receptors; rather, it enhances viscosity, increasing the retention time of the eye drop on the ocular surface.

Dosage & Administration

Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) four times a day or as needed.

Interaction

When using multiple ocular medications, allow at least a 5-minute interval between each application to ensure efficacy.

Contraindications

This eye drop should not be used by individuals who are hypersensitive to any ingredient in the formulation.

Use in Special Populations

• Pediatric Use: Not recommended for infants and children under 3 years of age.
• Geriatric Use: No significant differences in safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly patients and other adult patients.

Storage Conditions

Use this product within 30 days after opening. Store in a dry place at temperatures not exceeding 30°C, and protect from light. Ensure the bottle is tightly closed immediately after use.
