Composition
Each effervescent tablet contains:
- Calcium Lactate Gluconate: 1358 mg
- Calcium Carbonate BP: 1050 mg (equivalent to 600 mg of elemental calcium)
- Vitamin D3: 400 IU (as Cholecalciferol USP)
- Multiminerals: Essential minerals for bone health
Pharmacology
Adequate calcium is vital for several bodily functions. Clinical studies show that calcium helps prevent and treat osteoporosis and related fractures. Vitamin D is necessary for efficient calcium absorption and bone formation. Together, calcium and vitamin D3 synergistically enhance bone health, growth, and fracture prevention.
Dosage & Administration
- Adolescents and Adults: 1 tablet once or twice daily.
- Children: 1 tablet daily.
Instructions: Dissolve the effervescent tablet in water and consume immediately. Do not swallow or chew the tablet.

Interaction
- Medications: Can interact with cardiac glycosides, thiazide diuretics, and corticosteroids.
- Other Drugs: Take 1-2 hours before or 4-6 hours after certain medications (e.g., tetracycline, cholestyramine, laxatives). Wait 3 hours if taking bisphosphonates or sodium fluoride.
Side Effects
- Rare: Allergic reactions like swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Less Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, and abdominal discomfort.
- Serious (Very Rare): Hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria.
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy: Safe during pregnancy for calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Do not exceed 1500 mg of calcium and 1000 IU of vitamin D in the third trimester.
- Breastfeeding: Safe during breastfeeding.
Precautions & Warnings
- Renal Health: Patients with a history of kidney stones should monitor urinary calcium excretion.
- Long-Term Use: Regular monitoring of blood and urine calcium levels and kidney function is recommended.
- Other Conditions: Consult a doctor if you have kidney disorders, lung diseases like Sarcoidosis, or are taking other calcium and vitamin D supplements.
Overdose Effects
- Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, extreme thirst, and constipation. Overdose can lead to hypocalcemia due to vitamin D toxicity.
