Indications
Ezymilk is indicated for the prevention of symptoms associated with lactose intolerance, including:
- Infantile colic
- Abdominal pain
- Bloating
- Flatulence
- Diarrhea
- Borborygmi

Composition
- Each chewable tablet contains Lactase USP 9000 IU.
- Each milliliter of the liquid drop contains Lactase USP 0.11 gm, equivalent to 3333.33 units.
Pharmacology
Lactase is an essential enzyme that alleviates the symptoms of lactose intolerance by breaking down lactose (the sugar found in milk) into glucose and galactose through hydrolysis. This process enhances the digestibility of dairy products.
Dosage & Administration
- Chewable Tablets: Take 1 tablet with dairy foods. The dosage can be increased to 2 tablets as needed.
- Pediatric Drops: Add the lactase enzyme to breast milk or formula following these guidelines:
For Breast Milk:
- Extract 2-3 tablespoons of breast milk into a sterilized container.
- Add 4 drops of lactase pediatric drops.
- Administer the mixture to the infant using a spoon or oral syringe prior to breastfeeding.
- Breastfeed as usual.
For Formula:
- Add 4 drops of lactase pediatric drops to warm (not hot) formula.
- Wait 30 minutes, occasionally shaking the formula.
Preparing Formula in Advance:
- Mix 2 drops of lactase pediatric drops into warm formula.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
- Feed the infant as normal.
- Use within 12 hours and discard any unused formula.

Contraindications
Ezymilk should not be used in individuals with a known hypersensitivity to lactase or any of its components.
Side Effects
No significant side effects have been reported. However, minor side effects may include rash, difficulty breathing, or chest tightness.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The effects of lactase on fetal development are not fully understood. Therefore, it should only be used during pregnancy when absolutely necessary. The presence of lactase in breast milk is also unknown; thus, it should be used during lactation only when clearly required.
