Indications
This medication is indicated for the treatment of onychomycosis caused by various fungi, including dermatophytes, yeasts, and moulds.
Please consult a registered healthcare professional before using this medication.
Pharmacology
Amorolfine is a topical antifungal agent that belongs to a novel class of Morpholine compounds. Its antifungal activity is attributed to its ability to disrupt the fungal cell membrane, specifically targeting sterol biosynthesis. Amorolfine exhibits a broad spectrum of antifungal efficacy, effectively combating yeasts, dermatophytes, moulds, Dematiaceae, and dimorphic fungi.
Dosage
Amorolfine Nail Lacquer should be applied to the affected fingernails or toenails once or twice weekly, as directed by your doctor. It is crucial to continue using Amorolfine until the infection is fully resolved and healthy nails have regrown, which typically takes about six months for fingernails and nine to twelve months for toenails.
Please consult a registered healthcare professional before using this medication.
Administration
Step 1: Prepare the Nail
Use the provided nail file to gently file down the infected areas of the nail, including the surface. Avoid using the same file on healthy nails to prevent spreading the infection. Discard the nail file after use.
Step 2: Clean the Nail
Utilize one of the provided alcohol pads to clean the surface of the nail. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 for each affected nail.
Step 3: Apply the Lacquer
Using the nail brush, apply the lacquer directly from the bottle. Do not wipe the brush on the edge of the bottle before application. Ensure the brush is not used on healthy nails, and clean it with hot water after use.
Step 4: Final Application
Spread the lacquer evenly across the entire surface of the nail. Repeat these steps for each affected nail and allow the treated nails to dry for approximately three minutes. Seal the lacquer bottle tightly and dispose of the alcohol pad.
Before reapplying the lacquer, remove any old lacquer from your nails with a swab, and file the nails again if necessary. The lacquer is resistant to soap and water once dry, allowing you to wash your hands and feet normally.
Please consult a registered healthcare professional before using this medication.
