Pharmacology
Calcium Gluconate, a gluconate salt of calcium, is vital for normal nerve, muscle, and cardiac function, as well as maintaining calcium balance and preventing bone loss. Calcium Carbonate from Coral, structurally similar to human bone composition, ensures better absorption. Vitamin D3 aids calcium absorption and bone formation. Vitamin C is essential for stress response and infection defense. Clinical studies highlight synergistic effects of calcium and vitamin D in bone health and fracture prevention.

Interaction
Consider the risk of hypercalcemia with thiazide diuretics. Certain foods may reduce calcium absorption. Concomitant therapy with phenytoin or barbiturates can decrease vitamin-D efficacy. Calcium salts may affect the absorption of other medications; allow a minimum of 4 hours between intake.
Contraindications
Avoid in conditions like hypercalcemia, primary hyperparathyroidism, and Vitamin-D overdosage, as well as in severe renal failure and hypersensitivity to tablet ingredients.
Side Effects
Mild gastrointestinal disturbances and occasional skin rash may occur. Long-term high-dose Vitamin-D treatment may lead to hypercalciuria or hypercalcaemia.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Supplementation during pregnancy and lactation should be under physician supervision due to increased requirements. Overdoses of Vitamin-D can have teratogenic effects.
Precautions & Warnings
Monitor patients with renal failure or hypercalciuria. Regularly check plasma and urinary Calcium levels. Adjust treatment if urinary Calcium exceeds 7.5 mmol/24 hours.
Overdose Effects
Hypercalcaemia due to Vitamin-D toxicity is a serious consequence of overdose. Discontinue calcium and Vitamin-D intake and ensure hydration.
Therapeutic Class
Specific mineral & vitamin combined preparations.
