Indications
Azmasol serves as an effective bronchodilator for managing conditions such as:
- Asthma
- Chronic Bronchitis
- Emphysema
- Other disorders related to airway obstruction
Pharmacology
Salbutamol, a synthetic sympathomimetic drug, primarily activates beta-2 adrenergic receptors. This stimulation leads to bronchodilation by relaxing the smooth muscle fibers in the bronchial passages. The result is enhanced pulmonary function, as evidenced by improved spirometric results.

Exercise-Induced Asthma:

Side Effects
Azmasol may cause mild tremors, palpitations, muscle cramps, tachycardia, tension, headaches, and peripheral vasodilation, particularly after high doses.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Use during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh potential risks to the fetus. The excretion of Salbutamol in human milk is unknown. Consider the potential for tumorigenicity shown in some animal studies when deciding whether to continue breastfeeding.

Overdose Effects
Overdose symptoms include angina, headache, nausea, vomiting, and tremors. A cardio-selective beta-blocker is the preferred antidote but should be used with caution in patients with bronchospasm history.
Therapeutic Class
Short-acting selective β2-adrenoceptor stimulants.
