Pharmacology
Zinc is crucial for numerous physiological processes, including immune function, wound healing, digestion, reproduction, and both physical and mental development. It supports normal growth during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence, while also exhibiting antioxidant properties. Zinc supplementation is beneficial in treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children. In adults, a zinc deficiency can lead to a variety of symptoms such as appetite loss, diminished taste and smell, depression, white spots on fingernails, frequent infections, low fertility, mental health issues, poor wound healing, weakened immunity, diarrhea, and skin problems.
B-vitamins are essential for converting food into energy, and they play a significant role in maintaining healthy brain function, nerve health, and the formation of red blood cells. B-vitamin deficiencies in adults can cause fatigue, cognitive issues, and neurological symptoms such as weakness, poor coordination, irritability, confusion, and memory loss. Symptoms of B-vitamin deficiency also include nausea, poor appetite, skin issues, frequent infections, and sleep disturbances.
