Indications
Anril sublingual spray is prescribed for the immediate relief of angina pectoris attacks due to coronary artery disease, as well as for preventive use.
Description
Anril is an organic nitrate that acts as a vasodilator, affecting both arteries and veins. It is available as a metered dose spray containing 400 mcg of Anril per spray, with 200 metered sprays per container. Anril is administered as spray droplets under the tongue.
Pharmacology
Nitroglycerin primarily relaxes vascular smooth muscle, resulting in vasodilation of both peripheral arteries and veins. This reduces systemic vascular resistance, arterial pressure, and left ventricular end-diastolic pressure.
Dosage
During an angina attack, administer 1 or 2 sprays under the tongue initially, with no more than 3 sprays within a 15-minute period. If chest pain persists, seek immediate medical attention. Prophylactic use may involve administering the spray 5 to 10 minutes before activities that could trigger an acute attack.
Administration
Special Instructions:
- Carry Nitroglycerin Spray at all times, especially for angina patients.
- Use only at the onset of chest pain; avoid routine use.
- Avoid alcohol consumption after using this medication.
- Do not use with sildenafil, vardenafil, or tadalafil to prevent severe blood pressure drops.
- Store safely away from children.
How to Use Nitroglycerin Spray:
- Sit down when an angina attack begins.
- Remove the cap and hold the container upright without shaking.
- Place the container close under the tongue and press the button to spray.
- Do not swallow immediately; avoid water for 5-10 minutes after use.
- Repeat if necessary, and replace the cap securely after use.
