Pharmacology
This formulation combines Ispaghula Seed, Ispaghula Husk, and Tinnevelly Senna Pods (Senna), specifically designed to address acute constipation. The Ispaghula Husk contains approximately 70% soluble and 30% insoluble fiber, which can absorb up to 40 times its weight in water, acting as a bulking agent. When it absorbs water in the intestines, it expands, increasing the bulk within the bowel to help regulate bowel movements. Additionally, Ispaghula Seed contributes to easing constipation, while Senna acts as a stimulant laxative. The sennosides in Senna stimulate the muscles lining the gut, promoting relief from constipation. This effective combination provides relief from acute constipation.
