Indications
Neodrop is a highly effective antiflatulent used to relieve discomfort caused by excess gas in the digestive tract. It addresses symptoms such as flatulence, abdominal distention, fullness, and windy colic. Ideal for infants, Neodrop works in both the stomach and intestines to facilitate the easy expulsion of gas through belching or passing flatus.
- Large Bowel Preparation: Enhances polyethylene glycol bowel preparations to improve symptoms before investigations, particularly after accidental ingestion of foaming detergents.
- Treatment of Poisoning: Acts as an antifoaming agent in cases of accidental ingestion of foaming detergents.
Pharmacology
Simethicone in Neodrop alleviates common gas-related symptoms such as bloating, pressure, and fullness. Its antifoaming properties help disperse and prevent gas pocket formation in the gastrointestinal tract. By altering the surface tension of gas bubbles, Simethicone promotes easier gas elimination through belching or passing flatus. It also aids in reducing postoperative gas pain and enhances visualization before gastroscopy or radiography of the intestine.
