Indications
This product is recommended for addressing and/or preventing deficiencies in vitamins and minerals that may arise from restricted diets, inadequate food intake, alcohol consumption, or diminished absorption. It is also beneficial for individuals with heightened nutritional needs due to acute or chronic illnesses, pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause, infections, antibiotic therapy, and recovery periods. For the prevention of serious birth defects, supplementation with this tablet is advised periconceptionally (three months before conception through the first trimester of pregnancy).
Composition
This product comprises a balanced blend of multivitamins and multiminerals in appropriate quantities necessary for replenishing deficiencies and supporting optimal growth and immune function. Each sugar-coated tablet contains essential vitamins such as A, D, B1, B2, B6, B12, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, folic acid, C, and E, along with minerals including ferrous sulfate, cupric sulfate, magnesium sulfate, zinc sulfate, potassium iodide, and potassium sulfate.
Pharmacology
Vitamins and minerals are vital for normal metabolic processes, including blood cell formation. Vitamin B-group components are integral to enzyme systems regulating carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism. Vitamin C aids in tissue repair and collagen synthesis, while vitamin A supports retinal function and tissue growth. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, preserving cellular integrity. Vitamin D is crucial for preventing and treating nutritional rickets and hypoparathyroidism. Minerals like iron, copper, manganese, and zinc serve as catalysts in essential cellular functions.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and children over 5 years old are advised to take one tablet orally daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Contraindications
This product should not be used by individuals hypersensitive to any of its components. It is not intended for treating severe specific deficiencies of vitamins or minerals. Caution is advised for patients undergoing levodopa treatment, as pyridoxine may reduce levodopa efficacy. High doses of vitamin A (more than 10 tablets per day) during the first trimester of pregnancy may pose teratogenic risks.
Side Effects
Side effects associated with specific vitamins and minerals have been reported but typically at substantially higher levels than those found in this tablet. Some individuals may experience gastrointestinal intolerance with iron supplementation.
Pregnancy & Lactation
During the first trimester of pregnancy, it’s recommended not to exceed the daily dose. High doses of vitamin A (multiple tablets per day) during this period may have teratogenic effects.
Precautions & Warnings
This product is not intended for treating pernicious anemia or other megaloblastic anemias caused by vitamin B12 deficiency.
