Description

Indications

This medication is recommended for:

Pharmacology

Amlodipine and Atenolol combine to form this fixed-dose medication. Amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium antagonist, acts primarily on vascular smooth muscle, reducing peripheral vascular resistance and blood pressure. Atenolol, a cardioselective beta-blocker, lowers blood pressure by decreasing cardiac output and sympathetic activity. It also reduces myocardial oxygen demand.

The recommended dosage is one tablet of Amlodipine and Atenolol 5/25 mg daily, with potential adjustment to two tablets daily under medical supervision.
